Stat Points
Riders and horses alike have stats, here on ABM. We like for players to work on both because you can have a fantastic horse but a bad rider, thus a bad right and vice verse. For riders, stat points are called Experience and consist of for elements.
Poise - The higher the poise the more balanced your character is on horseback and the more graceful they look while riding.
Communication - It's important that your rider is able to communicate with their horse to get the most out of their ride.
Technique - Technique includes strength, ability to train and ride. This would come naturally as well as be learned.
Determination - It takes a lot of will power and determination to compete and train horses.
Those four elements will equal out to experience which will help with competitions when paired with their horses stats. Horse stats are as followed:
Intelligence
Conformation
Agility
Endurance
Speed
You start out twenty stat points for horse and rider that you can divide up as you wish! Stat points are earned through riding your horse (posting in trails and events) and taking lessons from the trainers, training your horse, and you can also purchase points at the store!
Remember, each event is judged based on the stats required for that event. So if you're riding in Dressage but your horse excels in stats for eventing, you're not going to do nearly as well as if you entered eventing in the first place. Experience for the rider works the same!
