Sanctuary Hills was founded by Nicholas Laskaris on the urging of his wife, Cecilia. The two had been trying for years to have children of their own but just weren't able to get pregnant. Opening the home was their way of giving to those children in need; those that so desperately needed a home but didn't have one. They wanted to assist other couples like themselves who weren't able to have children but so desperately wanted a family. Together, they could match up children in need with families who wanted them.
And then Cecilia died. Devastated by the loss of the love of his life, Nicholas emotionally withdrew. With financial backing from Nicholas, the home is now run by Cecilia's best friend, Lola and the dedicated staff of Sanctuary Hills. Their mission is to provide the best care and environment for the children that they can while searching out the best forever placement for each one.[/center][/span]
