QUESTIONS LIST

fishie’s spiffy, brilliant compiled questions list because fishie asks questions
like crazy 8’D I apologize if any of these are obnoxious, but I had to ask b/c
the question occurred to me and if it occurred to me it'll come up with someone
else eventually.

- How does the CAH Starter Kit work?

you get the horse- any natural breed ( not ABM specific ) right?

what tack pieces go in it?

how does those pieces affect your log?

- Is it necessary to have multiple tack pieces ( i.e. multiple saddles ) and how do they work?

( cbox answer -> one per horse )

- Does the tack affect stats ONLY during shows, or permanently?

- Would there be ranodm events such as ‘oh no, your horse tossed a shoe!’ that set you back as well as forward in activities? ( getting sick, injured, etc. )

- how would you do a multi-person quest? ( signing up for them, not randomly given out )

- How does the horse breeding work?

- will there be items in the shop for this available during the allowed period?

- will items be temporary for pet breeding, too?

- Can characters ‘set up’ stores on ABM?

- such as Character A saves and saves and saves and can finally afford to run a ( pet store ). Can Character A go and ‘buy’ the space ( a board ) and set up a ( pet store ) ?

- if so how’d that work? o3o ( fishie’s being obnoxious with this but it would, possibly, come up somewhere, by someone, eventually xD )

- Money transferring accounts; yep, that’s right. Have to ask because…

- Character-> character transfers

would characters be able to ‘sell’ services? ( if so are there limits to these services? what would they be? )

would it be allowed between your own characters? ( I lean towards no >.>” )

- OOC -> character transfers

your OOC account collects money with the ooc plotting and such if you use it. if you don’t want the OOC items can you give the money to a character?

- Character -> OOC transfers

so, can your CHARACTER send money to your OOC account? If so, wouldn’t this by a side-step to character -> character sending? ( or would characters only be allowed to send back what they did not spend from what the OOC sent to them. I.E. Fishtail sent 10,000 to the account Kilian. Kilian only spent 9,000; Kilian would return the 1,000 but not more )

- How do we update our horses stats?
                Do we just keep the changes in our logs and then send them in at the ‘end’ of a month to have them all updated officially or is that only tracked in our logs?

Fishie my darling, I'm insanely glad you ask questions, and I appreciate that you do! Especially if others are wondering the same thing, a question list is a great reference.


- How does the CAH Starter Kit work?
You'll get your horse, the breed must be a currently existing breed (with the exception of Ladani's and Belgroves, you'd have to buy their imports for them) and will come with 20 stat points, placed where you choose. Gender and color (realistic also) is also chosen by you. When you have your horse's information ready, PM an Admin and they will gather everything needed to add it to the respective stable's boarding list. If you'd like to see what you'll need beforehand, it's simply the empty forms in the boarding listings (here's BEA's List and DBL's List)

You can pick any one saddle, one saddle pad, and one bridle (all the same discipline) for the kit, excluding any specialty/seasonal tack that may show up at times. Because the staff doesn't get notifications of purchases, it'll be up to the member to let a staff memeber know which three pieces of tack they'd like to have with their kit, you can let the staff member know when you relay the horse's information for the board listings!

Blue mentioned this in the cbox last night, when you receive tack or any item that is supposed to add any experience points, it must be logged in the character's logbook. (bold for members woho are skimming this over, hehe) In the items section, list what tack/item your character posses and update the Experience of your character (poise, technique, communication, determination). Leave any presentation points and stats for horses be, they will be added in by a staff member come show time. So for example, if you have purchased a Western Trail Saddle (+1 Presentation, +1 Poise, +1 Endurance) you'll only need to add the +1 Poise to your log.


- Is it necessary to have multiple tack pieces ( i.e. multiple saddles ) and how do they work?
Like the cbox answer, you'll need one set of tack per horse. And I'll emphasize the word tack because you'll need a complete set of tack for a horse to be able to compete in shows, not just one saddle. And no sharing tack~


- Does the tack affect stats ONLY during shows, or permanently?
Tack will affect any event that is determined by stats, so yes shows. It's not permanent as when you either sell or switch pieces, the previous stats will be removed and replaced with the new stats. 


- Would there be random events such as ‘oh no, your horse tossed a shoe!’ that set you back as well as forward in activities? ( getting sick, injured, etc. )
These events are possible in quests and shows. While they are not common, if your horse 'tossed a shoe' it may give them a disadvantage in the next show, void out their current entry in the show (which is chosen by Luck during shows), or worst case keep them from entering the next competition. In quests, you can gain temporary boosters or 'illneses' that may temporarily deduct some stats/experience. You never know!!


- how would you do a multi-person quest? ( signing up for them, not randomly given out )
All characters participating in the quest will need to post a quest form in the same thread. Someone will need to just let the staff team know how many are participating when you post the forms so we will know when to issue the quest.


- How does the horse breeding work?
Right now, only stables are able to breed horses. For those who have personally owned horses and would like to breed them, you'll need to contact either Blue or myself to inquire about it. When/If the number of personal horses rise, we'll consider selling something like breeding contracts in the shop.
Now for pets, breeding is not regulated HOWEVER we allow it to be so with the expectations that members do not 'overbreed' their animals.`Treat it as you would real life pets, a respective dog kennel will only breed a bitch maybe once a year.


- Can characters ‘set up’ stores on ABM?
ABM actually has a board set up for members to buy/trade/sell items and pets! It's located in the ABM Boutique in the sub-board Buy/Sell/Trade Auction Barn. Here you can read the rules and some information about the Auction Barn.


Money transfers, weee!
Alright, first of all, any commercial-related sale (pets, items, ect.) are STRONGLY urged to be logged in the Receipts sub-board of the ABM Boutique board. It'll keep things official and cancel out any future issues regarding items and money transfers, ect.
Character > Character Transfers
In light of the Auction Barn I previously mentioned, characters can sell and advertise different services! Now, I cannot for the life of my think of many "services" that could be allowed, other than pet breeding, but if anyone has an idea or certain service for their character that they are wanting to sell, don't hesitate to shoot the idea our way!
OOC > Character Transfers, vice versa, and OOC > OOC Transfers
It's your money and items, do with them as you please! Now, for some reason our current skin seems to not allow the Donations and Gift/Transfer apps to work properly, we've attempted to address the issue to the skin's creator however have come up short on finding a solution, but we've found something of a loophole! lol Here's two options for sending money/items to other accounts;
1. Get ahold of an Admin and they can go in an transfer the money via edit. Only thing is, we can't transfer items...
2. If you'd rather do it personally, and transfer items, you'll have to switch to the old site skin in your Settings where the Donations App and Gift/Transfers works properly to start trades. It's actually pretty quick and easy to do, lol.


- How do we update our horses stats?
The staff team will keep up with with horses' stats since members can't edit the boarding lists. We'll update stats when events officially close and quests are complete, this is a reason why it's important to keep track of your quests so the staff team can make sure stats are tabbed correctly come show time~
